Volunteers from the neighborhood will host a Playground Project Street Party and Auction Nov. 5. Homeowners in the surrounding neighborhood, whether they have children attending LHE or their kids are long-graduated and gone, are invited to attend the event to raise money for additional improvements to the playground.

Collaboration between LHE families and the surrounding neighborhood has reached new heights this year, as tech-savvy parents have used Facebook and other social media tools to keep the community in touch with kids’ activities and invite Homeowners Associations to participate in events and fundraisers. Previous donations by the LRE Fan Club and the L Streets South have gotten the improvements started.
