The closures began on July 28 and will continue until Aug 3. While daytime traffic will not be affected, the portion of Plano Road closest to I-635 will close each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Northbound traffic will be diverted via service road to Jupiter Road before being looped back around to Plano on the other side of the highway, with southbound traffic following a similar course in the other direction towards Royal Lane.

According to the TxDOT website, the work resulting in the closure is expected to be completed by the morning of Aug. 3.

The closure is tied to the ongoing $1.74 billion 635 East Project, which first broke ground in 2020. Work is expected to last “through late 2025”.
