Molly, a 35-pound female dog under two years old who recently appeared on Good Morning Texas, is looking for a forever home just in time for the holidays after being taken in by a Lake Highlands neighbor.

Molly Deason, a Lake Highlands resident and veterinarian who works at CHEW Animal Clinic, got a call from her mother in East Texas after finding Molly (not named after the vet) wandering in her neighborhood. After coming to Dallas, Deason discovered that the young (believed to be) Shepard mix was pregnant with two puppies. Two days later, Molly gave birth to Spaghetti and Meatball, who have since been adopted.

”Gosh, she is so sweet and loving,” Deason said. “And was such a great mother to these two. And it just breaks my heart that she has never, probably since birth, been with her forever family, she was on the street. She sleeps sometimes under the bed, because I think she was used to sleeping under cars.”

Molly appeared on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas on Dec. 13, where she helped demonstrate some of “The Top Five Gifts for Dogs this Holiday.”

The dog is currently in a foster home with smaller dogs, but still needs to find a permanent living situation. Deason says she is “very affectionate,” enjoys exercise, and gets along well with cats and smaller dogs.

“She’s a superstar for being on the Good Morning Texas show,” she said. “And I know it’s just a hard time of year because people are going on vacation and no one’s wanting to adopt, but it would be a miracle if we could find her a home for Christmas.”
