Gently used adult coat donations are currently being accepted at the Audelia Road Branch Library as part of the Office of Homeless Solutions and Dallas Public Library 2024 Coat Drive.
The drive kicked off on Monday as part of the start of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. The week is a national effort with the goal of harnessing the giving spirit of the season to raise awareness and mobilize support for unhoused individuals and those facing food insecurity, especially as winter comes on.
In Dallas, the coat drive is being organized by the Friends of OHS and the Dallas Public Library. Bins have been placed around the city, including at Smoky Rose by the Arboretum.Â
The drive runs until Dec. 31.Â
The bin at the library can be found in front of the circulation desk. The library’s hours are as follows:
Monday/Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday/Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
