Lake Highlands High School doesn’t have any alums still playing in these exciting final college basketball games of the season, but if your brackets are busted and you are looking for a team to cheer, consider this: Wildcat point guard Jaylen Washington has committed to play for the University of North Texas when he graduates in 2024. His future team will play Thursday in the NIT championship.
North Texas rallied in the final seconds to beat Wisconsin 56-54 in Las Vegas. They’ll take on the University of Alabama – Birmingham at 8:40 p.m. CT tomorrow/Thursday night. You may watch the game on ESPN2. Go Mean Green.

Blogger CAROL TOLER and her husband, Toby, are the parents of four LHHS graduates. She has an MBA from SMU and is the proud recipient of the Exchange Club of LH's Unsung Hero Award and Councilman McGough's Blake Anderson Public Service Award. She received LHHS PTA's Extended Service Award, FMJH PTA's Charger Award and a Life Membership from the LHFC PTA. She has moderated candidate debates for Dallas Mayor, Dallas City Council and RISD Trustee races and taught seminars on garnering publicity for nonprofits. She completed training with Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation and Inside RISD, and she's a sustaining member of LH Women's League.
