Update: The date for the Tools 4 School Bash has been changed to Aug. 13.

Flexinfab, a rapper and Lake Highlands native, has put together a donation drive and community event to help check off supplies from Richardson ISD’s Forest Lane Academy back to school list.

The donation drive is running until Aug. 9, with drop off locations in and around Lake Highlands.

Supplies on the list include:

  • No. 2 pencils, Crayons, markers, colored pencils, pens, dry erase markers
  • pencil sharpeners, pencil bags, pencil cases
  • construction paper, notebook paper, notebooks, spirals
  • glue and glue sticks
  • erasers, scissors, rulers
  • 1-, 2- and 3-inch binders
  • dividers, folders
  • Ziplock bags, tissues, earbuds
  • backpacks and school bags

Donation locations include Forest Lane Academy, Audelia Road Branch Library, Lake Highlands North Recreation Center and the Forest Green Branch Library.

Flexinfab has also planned a free community bash Aug. 13. The event is open to all ages and will take place from 3-5 p.m. at Forest Lane Academy, 9663 Forest Lane, Dallas.

The “Tools 4 School Bash” will include food, music, games and entertainment. Donations are welcome at the event.

LHHS alumni Flexinfab grew up along Skillman Street, and said he felt that he was in a place in his life where he could give back to the community he grew up in. From there, he worked to create the Flexinfabs Tools 4 School event and donation drive happening this summer.
