The graduating seniors of LHHS were freshmen when Jeff Bradford arrived as director of bands in the summer of 2006. Friday night at the annual Band Banquet and Awards Ceremony, Bradford bid an emotional farewell to the first class he’s worked with from their arrival as geeky freshman to their graduation as accomplished musicians and leaders in the halls of Lake Highlands High. Seven of the 36 graduating seniors will enter college as music majors, pursuing degrees ranging from music therapy to music education to performance to composition.

Four of the awards given are part of a national band recognition program, and plaques engraved with recipients’ names will hang in the Band Hall permanently:

    Blogger CAROL TOLER and her husband, Toby, are the parents of four LHHS graduates. She has an MBA from SMU and is the proud recipient of the Exchange Club of LH's Unsung Hero Award and Councilman McGough's Blake Anderson Public Service Award. She received LHHS PTA's Extended Service Award, FMJH PTA's Charger Award and a Life Membership from the LHFC PTA. She has moderated candidate debates for Dallas Mayor, Dallas City Council and RISD Trustee races and taught seminars on garnering publicity for nonprofits. She completed training with Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation and Inside RISD, and she's a sustaining member of LH Women's League.
