The Cats were led by senior Noah McDavid with 17 points and freshman Tre Johnson with 12. Reid Hocker, Kyle Moran and Samson Aletan also made big contributions.

LHHS excelled this season thanks to multiple talented players, but two standouts have been particularly exciting to follow. Noah McDavid, who reached the 1,000 career point mark in January, is a District MVP candidate. Mohamad Shamait, featured in Friday’s Dallas Morning News, is a 6’6” senior who emigrated from war torn Syria as a child seeking a better life in Lake Highlands. Even Mace Dunham, one of the team managers, suited up in February and swished a 3 pointer.

This team is special.

Lake Highlands will face Coppell (19-3) Thursday at Loos Field House. The tentative start time is 7:00. Go Cats.
