Resident bald eagles Nick and Nora’s nest collapsed yesterday, but the birds are reportedly doing fine.

A post on the YouTube page WRLeagleTV, which gives updates on these eagles in White Rock Lake Park, said Nick and Nora had been working on the nest for weeks.

“I think all the recent rains and wind were just too much for that nest,” reads the post. “The good news: both eagles are fine, no eggs or babies were in the nest.”

Where the eagles will rebuild their nest is unknown, but WRLeagleTV may provide updates.

“I am sure some of you will be as upset as we are, but think about the positive part — they have the opportunity to build a stronger nest that we won’t worry about every time the wind blows,” the post reads.

Lakewood/East Dallas Advocate has kept tabs on these birds and written about them more than once. Check out our Nick and Nora coverage here.
