Vector Brewing is hosting a scorching eating contest in collaboration with NTX Hot Sauce Festival on Aug. 16.

On Aug. 16, the brewery will host its second spicy pizza challenge. Contestants will attempt to eat one “ridiculous” pizza created by NTX Hot Sauce Fest Crew and Vector Brewing within a set period. There will also be local hot sauce vendors on-site for those looking to take some of the heat home with them.
The competition will run from 1 to 6 p.m. in rolling timeslots. Starting on the first bite, competitors will have 15 minutes to finish the special pizza served with two Vector Beers. Before competing, all contestants are required to register for a timeslot, be 21 years old or up and sign a waiver releasing organizers from liability in case of a hot sauce-related emergency. Prizes will be awarded to the three fastest (or perhaps most heat-resistant) competitors.
In addition to hot sauce vendors, local tattoo artist Joe Campos will be available with an array of flash tattoos.
NTX Hot Sauce Festival bills itself as the largest event of its kind in Texas and will return for the third time this fall in Forth Worth.
