A Lake Highlands neighbor was recently recognized at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas’ 2025 annual celebration.

At the event, which took place on April 17 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, Kathleen Elliott was named the 2025 Volunteer of the Year for the Lake Highlands Family YMCA. Elliott has served as a board member of the Lake Highlands Y since 2021 and has helped with recruitment, summer food drives and the Catalyst Christmas campaign for household essentials.

“During her volunteer tenure Kathleen has role modeled excellence in volunteering through her ongoing commitment to the Y,” Vice President of Operations leading the Lake Highlands YMCA and Sports Brian Haines said in a release. “She has shared time, talent, resources, and treasures to help us fulfill our mission and expand our services.”

In her professional career, Elliott is a senior director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Dallas. 

She also serves on the board of the Lake Highlands Women’s League as corresponding secretary and is married to a 1991 graduate of Lake Highlands High School.
