Police say a woman was attacked Friday in her apartment near 8800 Fair Oaks Crossing. The previous night, a man climbed through an unsecured window and assaulted a woman sleeping in her bed at her apartment near 9700 Dale Crest Drive in West Dallas.

The same man is suspected in both attacks.

The suspect is described as a Latin male in his 20s, 5’8”, weighing 180-200 pounds. In both assaults he wore a black ski mask, black pants and black Nike shoes with a white swoosh logo.

Both assaults occurred in neighborhoods dense with apartments, and it’s not clear if the rapist will return to the Fair Oaks Crossing/Whitehurst area. Neighbors are urged to remain alert for any suspicious individuals matching the description. Persons with knowledge about the rapist’s identity or whereabouts are asked to contact Detective Carlos Cardenas immediately at 214-671-3683, Carlos.Cardenas@dallaspolice.gov or 911. Crime Stoppers may be reached at 214-373-TIPS during regular business hours.
