Competing in the UIL One Act Play contest, Lake Highlands High School advanced to last week’s bi-district competition. Their production of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” earned the students a spot as alternates in the area contest. It’s the most success LH’s OAP team has seen in a decade.
Bi-District medalists were All Star Crew Member Caroline Honeycutt, All Star Cast Member Abby Hayes and All Star Cast Member (honorable mention) Billie White.
Students will stage a final UIL public performance of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” tonight/Thursday at 6 p.m. at LHHS’ H building auditorium. Admission is free, and the play is appropriate for all ages.
“The show transformed and grew over the last two weeks, and we are excited to perform the final product one last time,” says Caddo Lindsey, director of LHHS’ theatre team. “You will see the team take a blank stage, put up their entire set in under seven minutes, perform their 40-minute show and strike to an empty stage in less than seven minutes, per UIL rules. You don’t want to miss it!”
