The former Bo Bo China building on Church Road has officially gone on sale, signalling the end of the beloved restaurant’s run in our neighborhood.
According to a Facebook Marketplace post by Juan Arias and confirmed by property real estate agent Judy Gee, who announced Bo Bo’s closing in October, the building at 10630 Church Road is up for sale. The 4,160 building has been listed for $1,500,000 and comes with contents included.
In October, the Advocate reported that Bo Bo had closed, with its future uncertain. The age of both ownership and the building were cited as reasons for the shuttering by Gee. With the listing, it seems as though Bo Bo has officially come to the end of the road. The restaurant was two years away from celebrating its 50th anniversary in Lake Highlands.
Ben Phoo Lee opened Bo Bo China in 1977 in a former burger restaurant. Over the years, the eatery grew to become a neighborhood establishment and the go-to destination for Christmas Day takeout in Lake Highlands.
