On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, more than 1,000 teen members from across North Texas will gather at the third annual Texas Peer-to-Peer Youth Conference.
The conference is presented in part by the Lake Highlands-based Grace Loncar Foundation, honoring the Booker T. Washington student who died by suicide in 2016. The foundation is collaborating with the Grant Halliburton Foundation and The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, both founded in the wake of loved ones lost to suicide.
Over 2,000 students from campuses across North Texas are expected to attend, with a series of talks and connection opportunities for students to learn about mental health and suicide prevention. It will be hosted at the Dr. Marcelo Cavazos Center for Visual and Performing Arts, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
