Road closures at Skillman Street and Audelia Road. are set to affect northern Lake Highlands traffic later this month.
District 10 Council Member Kathy Stewart announced earlier today, Nov. 13, that portions of Audelia Road near I-635 will be closed for about a month beginning on Nov. 18 for construction. The construction is part of TxDOT‘s ongoing 635 East project.
North of I-635, southbound traffic on Audelia Road will be diverted to Forest Lane to access Skillman Street, which can be followed to the southern portion of Audelia. Northbound Skillman Street drivers will also have to use Forest Lane to access portions north of the construction zone on Audelia Road.
South of the highway, direct access to I-635 from Audelia Road will be blocked by construction. Northbound traffic will be diverted to Royal Lane and then Skillman Street to access Whitehurst Drive and I-635. Skillman Street traffic across I-635 will not be interrupted. There will be access to apartments, storage facilities and the Dallas Fire Association’s headquarters on Audelia Road north of Royal Lane.
