The Lake Highlands North Recreation Center will host a special performance this Thursday in honor of Juneteenth.

The performance, offered to the center’s Active Senior Adult Program participants, will feature The Rob Holbert Group, a band specializing in jazz and classics. The band can also play R&B and dance music.
The performance will begin at 11 a.m. on June 20. The center is also planning on incorporating activities and crafts for its summer camp participants which educate campers on the holiday’s history.Â
Active Senior Adult programs are City of Dallas initiatives designed to promote active, social senior living. The program’s five main areas of focus are competition, health / fitness, socialization, special events, and special interests, according to Dallas Parks and Recreation.
