Elizabeth, a spirit who’s presence is believed to be in LHHS, is the legend of a girl who tragically passed away in the school’s auditorium in the 1970s.

Many students and staff have claimed that they see objects moving in the room she passed in.

The late Joel Rosenzweig, a beloved former teacher at LHHS, said students had come to him and asked him if he knew about Elizabeth.

“I can’t tell you that I have ever seen her,” Rosenzweig said to the Advocate in 2004. “But some of the kids have claimed to have seen her. And there have been some things happening that the kids says she does — lights go on and off for no apparent reason, props moving without anyone actually having moved them, cold spots on the stage during rehearsal.”

Brad Bell, former LHHS student, even made a movie called “Ghost Light” centered around Elizabeth. Bell claims he was drawn to the legend after speaking to one of the school’s technical directors.

“He was a very skeptical person who said, ‘After working here for however many years, I’m completely convinced there’s something here,’” said Bell to the Advocate in 2004.

Even though Bell has never personally seen anything, he says many close sources have told him odd things that lead him to believe this spooky spirit exists.
