A fire broke out at Cottonwood Trail Wednesday afternoon.

There was heavy fire response from Dallas Fire Rescue around 12:42 p.m. in response to a 911 call about a grass fire. The fire broke out along the 12600 block of the North Central Expressway Service Road.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire at a homeless camp between the West side of Cottonwood Creek and the Northbound service road of Central Expressway, according to Jason Evans public information officer for Dallas Fire Rescue.

The fire burned approximately 3 – 4 acres of land. There were no homeless found at the scene of the fire and no reported injuries.

There has not yet been a determined cause of the fire.
