SBLive, also known as Scorebook Live, partners with Sports Illustrated to cover high school athletes, teams and coaches. National Athlete of the Year titles were awarded to top high school athletes in thirteen sports. Johnson and other recipients received the most fan votes in their category.

On their website, SBLive praised Johnson as last year’s “consensus top-ranked junior in the country” and noted that he “posted 29 points and eight rebounds in the Wildcats’ state championship win.”

Last month, Johnson announced he’ll play his senior year at Link Academy in Missouri, a prep school which specializes in basketball.

Other SBLive winners are: Elijah Brown for football (Mater Dei in California), Gigi Navarrete for volleyball (Mother McAuley in Illinois), Aiden Boudro for boys soccer (Bay in Mississippi), Ivy Tolbert for girls soccer (Commerce in Georgia), Chloe Clardy for girls basketball (Conway in Arkansas), Joey Blaze for boys wrestling (Perrysburg in Ohio), Savannah Isaac for girls wrestling (Whitmer in Ohio), Walker Martin for baseball (Eaton in Colorado), Yanina Sherwood for softball (Jackson in Washington), Gatlin Bair for boys track and field (Burley in Idaho), Tatum David for girls track and field (Richland County in Illinois) and Matt Jeffrey for boys lacrosse (Cheshire in Connecticut).

Congratulations, all.
