Officials have not identified the shooter by name or said whether he also attends LHHS. They have not revealed a motive for the killing or shared whether the shooter knew the victim.

Officers responded Feb. 28 at about 5:40 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 7300 block of Skillman, between Church and Walnut Hill. The victim died at the hospital.

LHHS Principal Kerri Jones quickly emailed a note to parents, explaining that metal detectors would be used at school entrances “as a precaution.”

Following Saturday’s arrest, metal detectors were not used at LHHS this morning/Monday.
