The coffee shop was started by Christina James, a cyclist and employee of the bike store with connections to the coffee industry, including experience as a barista.

She came up with the idea to combine her interests in coffee and cycling when she joined the store’s cycling team in late 2020, James wrote in an Instagram post.

The shop is set up in the back corner of the shop. Customers can order at the bar inside, or they can go to the walk-up window. There are a few stools inside along with the outdoor seating.

Pull Through serves East Dallas products. Coffee is from Cultivar Coffee, and treats are from Leila Bakery and Cafe, which was named one of the top 10 bakeries in Dallas in 2021, according to USA Today. Banana bread baked by Lisa Marsh, a dietitian and frequent user of the White Rock Lake Trail, is also sold, along with treats from Lake Highlands-based Salt Sweets.

The shop held a soft opening Monday, and the official opening is scheduled for Feb. 25, The Dallas Morning News reported. Dallas Bike Works is located at 4875 W. Lawther Drive.
