Peace on Earth

Lake Highlands is officially ready for Christmas, thanks to the LH Junior Women’s League and their annual Light Up the Highlands event Sunday afternoon. As children young and old looked on in wonder, Santa lit up the Christmas tree at the Town Center.

League volunteers hosted a Christmas Market showcasing small local businesses and live performances by student dancers and singers. Kids enjoyed skating, making crafts, riding the snow luge and petting real reindeer.

Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League has raised almost $1 million dollars for community projects since the group was founded in 2004. Their next big event is Run the Highlands in April.

She has an MBA from SMU and is the proud recipient of the Exchange Club of LH's Unsung Hero Award and Councilman McGough's Blake Anderson Public Service Award. She received LHHS PTA's Extended Service Award, FMJH PTA's Charger Award and a Life Membership from the LHFC PTA. She has moderated candidate debates for Dallas Mayor, Dallas City Council and RISD Trustee races and taught seminars on garnering publicity for nonprofits. She completed training with Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation and Inside RISD, and she's a sustaining member of LH Women's League.
