Lupnerheads have waited a long time for their favorite band to resume live shows, but the wait will soon be over. The Lupners, Lake Highlands’ own 80s cover band, will rock the house at 3 Nations Brewing April 30.
Named for its traditional German, Belgian and English brewing methods, 3 Nations is in historic downtown Carrollton, but the owners are LH mainstays. Investors include David and Susan Solomon, Steve and Karen Stutsman, Brooks and Lynda Purnell, John and Julie Morrow and John and Karla Royer.
The brewery sits in a big rustic shed, with small-batch copper tanks purchased out of storage from the old Humperdink’s on Greenville Avenue. Most of the fun takes place on the patio, where picnic tables and a carousel canopy are rescued remnants from the now-closed Sandy Lake Amusement Park nearby. The Lupners will be appearing from 7-10 p.m., but if you want to make an evening of it, come early enough to stroll Carrollton’s town square. You’ll find dinner options like Babe’s Chicken, Cane Rosso and Twisted Root nearby, along with antique shops, candy counters and boutiques.
3 Nations Brewing is at 1033 E. Vandergriff.
