What’s happening this weekend? This week brings a brisket cook-off, two anniversary events, an art gallery and a Sandwich Hag market featuring Haute Sweets Patisserie.

Oak Highlands Brewery

On Saturday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Oak Highlands Brewery is hosting a brisket competition. It will be blind judged and entry fees will be distributed as cash prizes for the top three participants. Doors open at 2 p.m.. Burger Schmurger will be there from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m..

Tickets are $25 online.

Touch a Truck

Audelia Road Library Friends, via Facebook

Friends of Audelia Road Library will host an anniversary extravaganza for the library’s 50 years. Touch a Truck allows kids to touch vehicles that serve the community and city and meet the people who operate them. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lake House Bar and Grill Ninth Anniversary

To celebrate its ninth anniversary in Lake Highlands, Lake House will have live music from three bands this Saturday starting at 3 p.m.. Brunch will be served right before fro 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.. Peticolas Brewing will take over with beer. Guests can also expect activities for kids and bring along their dogs.

Peter Max art gallery

On Saturday and Sunday, there are complimentary receptions for the national artist Peter Max at the Milan Gallery. Just across the highway in Preston Hollow, the pop up gallery receptions will be open on Saturday from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Night Market for a cause

On Saturday, Vietnamese restaurant Sandwich Hag will host a market for Lunar New Year and World Down Syndrome Day from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.. There will be several food vendors and retailers, including Haute Sweets Patisserie from Lake Highlands. The market will be at Sandwich Hag at 1902 Botham Jean Blvd.

Admission is free.
