DPL celebrates Women’s History Month

Looking to celebrate Women’s History Month beyond supporting women-owned businesses? Local branches of Dallas Public Library have both virtual and in-person workshops and crafts paying tribute to women’s achievements this month.

Upcoming online events include “Romance Novels & Feminism” on Mar. 17, “Auto-Empowerment Workshop with Mechanic Shop Femme” on Mar. 23 and Coaching Yourself through Crisis with Christine Horstman” on Mar. 26.

At Vickery Park library, there are two “Girl Boss” sessions. One is with Valese and Bridgette Jones on Mar.16 and another with Catalina Gonzalez on Mar. 23, both at 5:30 p.m. today from 3:30-4:30 p.m., there’s a spy decoder crafting event in the Vickery Park Auditorium.

Over at Audelia Road, celebrate women pilots with an afternoon plane craft on Mar. 23 from 4 -5 p.m. All supplies will be provided.

At Forest Green, relive the days of Sunnydale High with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed event on Mar. 12 at 12:30 p.m. Then on Mar. 30, enjoy a “Girl Boss” session at 2 p.m. with Dominique Ransom. The rest of the month will be filled with craft events on Mar. 12, Mar. 19 and Mar. 26.
