The Lady Wildcat softball team is getting excited about the upcoming season, but they’re hoping for some help. They’re hosting an online fundraiser to help pay for equipment, fees and travel costs.
“Your support will help us offer a higher quality experience for all participants,” says Kelly Baker, Lake Highlands’ head coach. “Raising dollars for extracurricular activities is very difficult to do, but it’s vital for our program.”
The varsity is preparing to compete in this weekend’s Kaitlin Seidel Memorial Tournament at Pearce High School, and the JV will host Molina Friday night at 6:30. Next Tuesday night the teams kick off district play by hosting Irving MacArthur – JV at 5:30 and varsity at 7.
“The best thing about our varsity team is the friendships that we make,” says sophomore Brooke Bouldin, half of the “dynamic duo” with Peri Dunham. Bouldin pitches left-handed while Dunham is a righty, and the girls have played together 8 years on SVAA, club and LHHS teams. “We all work hard to be the best we can be.”
If you’d like to help, log on here to make a donation and/or attend a game at LHHS. Entrance is free.
