A man was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 2, after trying to pull over a Dallas police officer in an unmarked car on the 8600 block of North Central Expressway.
A police officer was driving north, near Northwest Highway, when a vehicle with red and blue strobe lights pulled up behind him, according to the Dallas News.
Alexis Estrada Lopez, the 18-year-old man driving the cream-colored truck, turned off the strobing lights and sped off once the officer pulled completely over to the right shoulder of the road.
Plano and Dallas police stopped the vehicle 11 miles away from the scene in the 3500 block of Wilshire Way in Richardson.
Inside Estrada’s truck, police found two strobe lights with glass mounted suction cups, a siren, airhorn and speakers. The wires to the emergency strobe lights were ripped or cut, according to police.
Lopez was arrested and charged with a felony count of impersonating a public servant. He has since posted his $1,500 bond.
The two passengers with Lopez were released.
