The Lake Highlands Public Improvement District is hosting its first Drive Thru Blitz at the Creekside Shopping Center and Retail Plaza from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 21.

The event will include free goodies from businesses in the shopping center off Abrams Road and Skillman Street, given to neighbors from the safety of their car. This will include free coupons, gift cards, discounts and samples.

The Lake Highlands School of Music will provide musical entertainment for the drive through the shopping center.

“LHPID is continuing to work with our businesses during the pandemic,” the improvement district shared online. “We are very excited that Alamo Drafthouse has reopened… [and] we want the community to support all the businesses in the Creekside shopping center.”

This is the first event of its kind for the LHPID, and is meant to encourage community support of business in Lake Highlands. The improvement district is hosting the event in collaboration with the shopping center.

A second Drive Thru Blitz is currently planned for 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 25 at the Lake Highlands Town Center.
