Free school supplies will be available at Richardson ISD’s second annual Back to School Backpack Bash.
Two bashes will be held over the next few weeks to cover the district. Enrollment support for the 2021-22 school year and access to other family district programs and services will also be available at both.
“As we head back to school for in-person learning, these events will connect many of our families with valuable resources in addition to supplies to begin the school year,” RISD superintendent Jeannie Stone said in a release.
The first event will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. July 31 at Lake Highlands High School, 9449 Church Road. The second bash will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at Richardson High School, 1250 W. Belt Line Road.
The district gave out roughly 3,500 backpacks with school supplies at last year’s Backpack Bash. This year, RISD expects to hand out closer to 5,000.
Registration information can be found here, and is required for the events.
