The celebration was renamed to the 51st Anniversary Gala after the pandemic pushed the event into the year 2021.

“We had you know, three postponements, and this is the fourth date. So it’s quite the journey to get to this point,” Reunion Committee chair Robert Grinsfelder said.

At the event Nov. 6, the reunion committee hopes to see at least a quarter of the class’ 500-or-so graduates, as well as faculty members.

The gala will include drinks, food stations, and a DJ playing the hits from the 60s and 70s for an evening of dinner and dancing. Special videos and memorabilia commemorating the class will be available, as well as a free sketch artist and photo area.

Alumni are also invited to take the stands together at a Wildcat home game the night before, tour LHHS in its recently remodeled glory in the morning and attend a brunch that Sunday before heading home. Alumni from the years surrounding 1970 are also welcome to join in on any activities, including the gala, Grinsfelder shared.

For those who wish to attend the Anniversary Gala, a registration form can be found at www.lhhswilcats.com. Additional information on the event and hotel stays can be found there as well.

Tickets are currently priced at $85 per person. After Oct. 1, the price will go up to $95.
