Applications to a new National Association for the Advancement of Colored People unit are open for neighbors to join.

The NAACP chapter will not be active until this fall, but is accepting applications from Richardson residents and those in Richardson ISD attendance zones.

Annual membership for those 21 and older is $30 and $15 for those 14-20 years old.

NAACP is a 501c4 organization that encourages grassroots activism for civil rights and social justice. There are more than 2,000 units across the nation and more than 2 million activists involved, according to the NAACP.
