Lake Highlands High School’s R.J. “Tre” Johnson has been ranked the #3 basketball player in America by ESPN. The rising sophomore has already received offers to play at the University of Texas, Texas A&M and the University of Tennessee and says he’s been in contact with coaches at Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State, Prairie View A&M and Alabama State, among others.
The Wildcats traveled to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) showcase tournament last weekend in Duncanville, where they defeated Richmond Foster 74-34, San Antonio Harlan 63-41 and Austin Westlake 62-48. After the final game, the tournament recognized Johnson in a tweet for “putting @LHWildcatHoops on his back in the 2nd half scoring 15 of his 19 points.” Junior Samson Aletan, who’s received an offer to play at Saint Louis University, also earned their praise.
