The Dallas Police Department will host a Senior Wellness and Safety Event Thursday, with free health checks for persons aged 50 or better. Giveaways include blood pressure cuffs, no-touch thermometers, bags of fruits and vegetables, cooling towels and hygiene kits.
The event runs from 9-11 a.m. and is drive-thru only in the parking lot of Lakepointe Church, 9150 Garland Road.
