A ribbon cutting for the new Northeast Community Court occurred on April 6 with the attendance of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam McGough.

The facility on 9451 LBJ Freeway, Ste. 125, will focus on rehabilitating defendants charged with Class C misdemeanors. Those pleading “guilty” or “no contest” may be ordered to perform supervised community service and possibly attend rehabilitative and educational programs instead of paying fines or court costs.

The city’s other community courts are located in South Dallas, West Dallas and Oak Cliff.
