Crossroads Diner’s notoriously delicious sticky buns

It’s been more than 4 years since Crossroads Diner moved from their original home in Lake Highlands to their current digs at Preston and Campbell. This morning about 6 a.m., chef/owner Tom Fleming announced on Facebook he’s throwing in the dishtowel.

“Well we gave it our best,” wrote Fleming. “I’m truly saddened that I am writing this, but the time has come. We have decided to close Crossroads Diner permanently!! I thought we would make it to 10 year anniversary but we fell short by 5 days!! 9 years and 360 days is still a damn good run!”

Despite the move, many from LH had been making the 10+ mile trek to far north Dallas for Fleming’s notorious sticky buns and melt-in-your-mouth pancakes. That is, they’d been loyal visitors until the pandemic struck.

“To our guests that changed our lives so positively over the years I am honored and blessed!!! Thanks,” wrote Fleming. “I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I’ll let ya know when I do!!”
