Dallas Police are targeting the city’s more violent neighborhoods with a new plan to reduce crime and prevent gun violence, CBS 11 reports. DPD will saturate seven zip codes with patrol officers, including 75243 in Lake Highlands.

The effort follows record-setting crime levels throughout Dallas in 2020, with DPD logging its 200th homicide on November 1. A violent weekend in mid-November left 7 dead and multiple people injured after 13 shootings.

In addition to 75243, which includes Forest/Audelia, Greenville/635, Forest/75 and other problematic areas, DPD will target 75228, 75204, 75215, 75224, 75237 and 75216. Officers there will increase traffic stops and pedestrian stops, they said.
