Halloween festivities look a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but families can still take advantage of some safe events for the kids in Lake Highlands this year.

Drive Thru Trick Or Treat at Lake Highlands Recreation Center

Attendees remain in their cars while driving through to collect Halloween treats as supplies last at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center. 

When: Oct. 30 from 5-6:30 p.m.

Where: Lake Highlands North Recreation Center at 9940 White Rock Trail

Lake Highlands Public Improvement District Trunk or Treat 2020

Children can enjoy a drive-thru Halloween with social distancing and decorated trunks hosted by the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District, Dallas City Council member Adam McGough and Northeast DPD. 

When: Oct. 31 from 2-4 p.m.

Where: Lake Highlands Village next to the Tom Thumb parking lot

Trunk Or Treat at Dallas ReStores

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity is offering a safe, socially distanced trick-or-treating event for the family. Candy for children will be distributed safely at the Lake Highlands ReStore location.

When: Oct. 31 from 3-5 p.m.

Lake Highlands UMC Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat

Treats will be given out by masked and gloved individuals from a decorated trunk at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church’s trunk-or-treat drive-thru experience. Participants over 2 years of age must wear a mask.

When: Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m.

Where: 9015 Plano Road at LHUMC’s McCree Road parking lot

Halloween extravaganza at the Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s annual Halloween weekend will offer trick-or-treating throughout the garden and various activities, including pumpkin decorating, body art tattoos, a petting zoo and live music.

When: Oct. 31-Nov. 1 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on both days

Where: Main Garden at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden on 8525 Garland Road
