Richardson ISD officials say they cannot share details, including the number of infected individuals, whether they are students or employees, and their current medical status. Junior varsity and freshman players are not under quarantine because the teams remain separate during workouts, they said.

The varsity played last Friday night in Berkner’s gym, but RISD’s contract tracing investigation did not identify any possible exposure to participants, spectators, or attendees. As has been repeatedly stressed for all RISD students, parents should continue evaluating them for symptoms daily. If signs of illness are detected, they should keep students home from school and notify the school nurse, RISD officials noted.

Quarantined players will learn remotely until given the green light to return to campus. Matches have been canceled through at least Oct. 16, and coaches may make up the games if an alternate date can be found.
