Art-starved neighbors can get their fix at an outdoor art exhibit debuting today at White Rock Lake Park.
The family friendly art show, organized by the Bath House Cultural Center, features 90 artists and works inspired by White Rock Lake.
Artists created their work with Sharpie markers or acrylic paint on plexiglass donated by Bluebonnet Frames. The pieces will be displayed on 15 fence panels located among the live oak trees in the park, just north of the Bath House Cultural Center.
QR codes will be placed next to each piece so visitors can learn more about the artist and artwork. The show includes artists from the White Rock Lake Artists Tour, the Goldmark Cultural Center and the Bath House Cultural Center.
Neighbors can view the art while socially distancing outside, with great views of White Rock Lake and the Dallas skyline.
“It’s all about the park and lake and wildlife,” said Teresa Bond, treasurer of Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center. “There’s all kinds of different interpretations and styles.”
The free outdoor show will run during daylight hours from Oct. 5-18.
Once it closes, the artwork will be displayed in a permanent exhibit outside the Goldmark Cultural Center.
