Sports Day calls Mitch Coulson a ‘Player to Watch’
The Wildcat football season doesn’t officially begin until Thursday night, but Sports Day’s Joseph Hoyt has already named returning quarterback Mitch Coulson a “Player to Watch” for 2020.
In Wednesday’s Dallas Morning News, Hoyt puts Coulson top of his list, noting the “dual-threat QB had 1,411 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns” in 2019. “He also threw for 10 scores,” recalls Hoyt.
The Wildcats also fare well in Hoyt’s district predictions. His crystal ball shows Jesuit winning District 7-6A and LHHS finishing second. He puts Pearce third.
The Cats host Mesquite Poteet at Wildcat Stadium this week, and kickoff is at 7. Seating is limited, but you can hear the game broadcast online here. Veteran sports announcer Mike Peasley, formerly with ESPN 103.3, will call the game. You can subscribe to NFHS Network here to watch audio and video of games in LHHS’ stadium and gym.
