Families learn English, other skills at Pamper Lake Highlands

Lake Highlands High School junior Nicholas Landry aims to become an Eagle Scout, but he’ll need to rally help from the community before he can earn that honor. He’s hosting a diaper drive Oct. 3 to support Pamper Lake Highlands.

“I really want to make an impact on local families in need, especially during Covid-19,” Landry says. “Pamper Lake Highlands provides diapers to low-income families who participate in their educational programs. I hope my drive will reduce the financial burden on families during these troublesome times.”

Landry belongs to Troop 890, which has supported more than 500 Eagle Scouts in their 59 years in Lake Highlands.

If you’d like to help, Landry and his team of volunteers will be in the parking lot at Highland Oaks Church of Christ from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. collecting items for children and families. Pamper Lake Highlands needs diapers, especially Pull Ups and larger sizes, baby wipes and healthy snacks, such as granola bars, fruit snacks, wheat crackers, applesauce and trail mix.
