A woman faces a murder charge after she told them she fatally stabbed a man she dated.
Dallas Police Department officers were called Tuesday, Aug. 11 around 6:30 p.m. to a motel in the 9800 block of Adleta Court. A 50-year-old woman called 911 and said she had stabbed the 58-year-old man.
When DPD arrived, they found the man on the floor with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The woman was questioned by police and said the man attacked her before she used a pair of scissors to stab him in self defense.
Detectives found a bloody knife in a motel room drawer, and the woman said that the man used the knife first and that she didn’t know how she got the knife.
The man was indicted in March on a felony family-violence charge in Dallas County. The woman’s bail is set at $150,000.
