Racism and the criminal justice system will the topic at ‘Justice Responds’

Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall received criticism this month for tactics used with protesters on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Tuesday/this morning, the Lake Highlands resident will join Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot and Big Thought C.E.O. “Justice Responds” is part of the Responds Series hosted by SVP Dallas. The discussion will begin at 10:30 a.m.

“In the wake of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police officers who had sworn to protect and serve him, ‘to protect with courage, to serve with compassion,’” explains SVP’s online registration form, “our communities are rising to action for more equitable systems and against racism. The systems of oppression we are up against are entrenched, long-standing, and very much alive.”

Previous speakers in “Responds” series offerings on leadership, mental health and philanthropy have included Cynt Marshall of the Dallas Mavericks, Dr. Brad Schwall of The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.

Participation is free, but registrants are asked to register enroll online here.
