LHWL President Heather Haskins (in red) and 2019 Home Tour Chairs Tammy Williams and Tricia White

Lake Highlands Women’s League members awarded $99,000 in college scholarships to 39 graduating seniors this month. The application process was complicated by COVID-19 and the abrupt end of the school year, but league members were determined to locate and honor deserving candidates. Some applicants were interviewed by Zoom teleconference, and some responded to email interview questions.

Funds were raised during the LHWL Home in the Highlands home tour, held the first Friday in December each year. An additional $100,000 was distributed to LH schools and nonprofits, and members served 5,000 volunteer hours in the community.
