The committee will develop a city-wide strategy to mitigate the impact of coronavirus, monitor compliance of safety regulations and aggressively prepare for recovery, according to an email by McGough’s office. They will focus on the outbreak’s impact on public safety and philanthropy, homelessness and housing, healthcare and family violence, neighborhoods and elder care, transportation and parks, and education and youth services. A second committee, led by councilmembers Paula Blackmon and Casey Thomas, will focus on economic recovery and assistance.
