Cooped up at home? Wildcats invite you to dance

LHHS senior Brady Hernandez invites students from every school group to dance with him on the video below.

All athletic contests and artistic performances are canceled while school is out at Lake Highlands High School, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be entertained by some creative teens from our neighborhood. The dance video below, featuring LHHS senior Brady Hernandez, was filmed in September to encourage students to attend the first YoungLife club meeting of the year. It’s making the rounds again on social media as people need a pick-me-up while they’re stuck at home.

Hernandez plays on the Wildcat baseball team and sings in the choir, and he dances with kids from organizations all across LHHS, including Bell Boys, athletic trainers, school resource officers, drama students, choir kids, cheerleaders, Folklorico dancers, Wranglers, Highlandettes, marching band members, Wildcat coaches, and members of the golf, basketball, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, weight lifting, baseball, football, soccer, step and other teams. The students dance at various locations on the LHHS campus, and they visit NorthPark, Flag Pole Hill, the Arboretum, the spray park, White Rock Lake and various eateries and shopping centers in town.

“We wanted to get as many groups as possible in the video,” says Hernandez. “It showed that we are one school, and it gave us an opportunity to tell people about YoungLife and invite them to club. It stinks that our spring semester of Young Life is on hold right now, but this video still makes me happy knowing how much our school loves each other and how we are one family.”
