A ballet class at Dallas Ballet Center

Dallas Ballet Center has introduced multitudes of Lake Highlands boys and girls to the world of dance since Brent and Judy Klopfenstein became owners and artistic directors of the studio in 1987, and now they’re welcoming a new generation – dancers whose parents enrolled at DBC as children.

When the Klopfensteins moved their studio from Northwest Highway and Abrams to Town Creek Shopping Center in 1996, it seemed they had all the room in the world. This year, they recognized the need for more space to keep up with fast-growing enrollment, so they took in the space next door when Mathnasium relocated to Lakeridge Village. After renovations, DBC has gone from 10,000 to 12,000 square feet and stretches all the way to Town Creek Cleaners.

In addition to adding sections of traditional classes like ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop, DBC will expand its offering to adults. The summer and fall schedule will include classes like Body and Soul Yoga, Barre workout to build strength and sculpt muscles and Piloxing, a fusion of Pilates, boxing and dance. The Progressing Ballet Technique class will use fitness balls to help participants develop a solid core and reshape the contours of arms and legs.

Details on pricing and class schedules are available on the DBC website here. Dallas Ballet Center is at 8530 Abrams near Royal Lane behind Starbucks.
