Resident Taqueria

Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam McGough announced Monday that police have arrested the teen suspects who robbed and assaulted Andrew Savoie.

“Thankful to report that the Dallas Police Department – Northeast Division have arrested all suspects in the senseless robbery and attack on our neighbor and owner of our local favorite, Resident Taqueria,” he wrote on Facebook.

“Thank you to the community members who stopped to help during the attack, the business owners who shared their camera feeds, and for our police officers who worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspects,” continued McGough. “We will continue to monitor the situation, but please come out and visit Resident Taqueria this week and enjoy some great food and fellowship.”

Savoie was working in the kitchen when a teen in a hoodie walked in and grabbed the tip jar. He ran out and joined three friends, who ran to neighboring apartments. Savoie caught up with the thieves as they counted their loot and asked that they return it. They kicked him and beat him with a cinderblock, even chasing him as he ran into Walnut Hill Lane to seek help from passing motorists.

Resident Taqueria is at 9661 Audelia next to Shady’s. They have a cute little patio and specials on the chalkboard. The food is delicious.
