The Hill shopping center features neighborhood favorites like Civil Pour and Hat Creek Burger, but now there’s a new chance to work off the beer and burgers.

Planet Granite is a rock climbing gym featuring bouldering under natural light, a yoga studio, a full-line up of introductory and advanced climbing classes and a unique outdoor fitness area, it’s expected to open in the second half of 2020.

“Our goal with opening Planet Granite at The Hill is to create a place for local climbing enthusiasts to come together and share their passion for adventure through climbing and fitness in a community environment,” said Robert Cohen, El Cap CEO, in a press release.

The gym will occupy 37,000 square feet at The Hill with the facility having an emphasis on conservation.

Located in the former Treehouse space, Planet Granite’s new building is powered by roof-top solar arrays connected to a rechargeable Tesla battery that provides energy for the entire the building. Other green initiatives throughout The Hill include a property-wide restaurant composting station and recycling program, 12 Tesla charging stations, as well as native landscaping.

Additional tenants that are also set to open at The Hill in 2020 include:
  • Hello Dumpling: family-owned restaurant specialized in fresh dumplings, noodles and brewed bubble teas
  • Hiatus Spa + Retreat: a luxury spa offering a vast range of high-quality beauty services including massages and facials, among many more.
  • Keller Williams: a real estate franchise office
